From a barn stable to a vintage Airstream, the journey of crafting a creative sanctuary amidst chaos and curves.

When I started this Substack in November 2023, I called it Airstream Chronicles, not knowing that just 18 months later, I’d be transforming yet another Airstream into a woodworking space. The timing was perfect. I had been building outside, in a horse stable below where I live in the barn. It’s open, drafty, and impossible to heat. I needed something more enclosed, something that could withstand the cold. Enter Chris, one of my favorite people in the world, who bought a 1994 Airstream Excella 1000. He gutted it down to the skins, installed a new subfloor, and handed me the keys. "Here you go," he said. "Use it for whatever you need!" Well, truth is, there is no key but I cannot be more grateful for this 30 foot treasure.
